Figure It Out Friday

Problem: too much litter getting to the ocean

Task: brainstorm solutions, choose one, make a plan of how we implement that plan

We are thinking of making a website with heaps of facts about how much waste ends up in the ocean. In our plan we try and organise a fundraiser to support volunteers to collect litter.

My plan is to advertise a TV show on a poster. The TV show will stop people dropping rubbish and educate them to help the sealife.

My plan is to work with companies to share the work in cleaning up our beaches. I am designing a picture to send to the companies to get them to sign up.
I also have thought of the plan to educate companies - which will turn into sponsorship - which means money that we can use to make our company.

Milan and I designed a billboard saying if you litter you have to pay a fine. We want the billboard to be in Auckland.

We designed a submarine dump truck. We added a magnet to collect any metal rubbish and a sucker to get other rubbish. We started fundraising by using a dolphin picture and asking people to donate $10 or more. It just can't be under $5.

I was working on the logo for Cai and Caprice. It represents the ocean and is purple, green, and turquoise.

Did you know there is approx 8 billion tonnes of plastic in the sea? Our plan is to ban taking any food with rubbish to the beach. We would set up a 0800 number so that people can report others.

Our plan is to save the sealife. We will make a Youtube channel and try to build up to a TV show. We will be the hosts and we: scubadive, find rubbish, share fun facts, and chill with sealife.

Our plan is to make posters for recyclable plastic. We will put the posters all around the world and mostly at beaches and by lakes. We're trying to get onto the news too. Later we might be able to make a documentary for TV.

We hire multiple scuba divers, you have to be 15 or over to help. We will hire people from university and high school. The scuba divers travel the world collecting ocean trash and we pay them to do it. It would cost a fortune so we would have to think of how to get all the money for it.
