Ag Day (next Friday) - we are going to be creating a wand/staff/walking stick from mostly natural materials (can also include a bit of ribbon/recycled fabric or something if desired!)
We will be making these over Tuesday and Wednesday so not ideal to have fresh flowers and things that will wilt for this part.
Then on Thursday, we will be creating sand saucers senior edition!
The hope is we can level up from what we would have done at the junior end of the school - make a plan and create a sand saucer that shows creativity. Would be great to think outside the box - this may be by changing up the size/shape of the dish, the materials used, for example - just using a variety of leaves, using things like bark or seed pods, creating an image within your saucer using flowers/leaves.
Use this week to think and see what is available and we will have some more in-depth planning time on Monday. You may wish to do a trial run, make your plan and bring this in next week.
What now?
- Find a long, sturdy stick or small branch from your backyard (size dependent on if making a walking stick/
staff or wand)
- forage for anything you may wish to use on it (see how long things keep/how strong they are for tying things on etc)
- look around and get thinking about the sand saucer, decide on the dish you are wanting to use. (see how well flowers/leaves last, remember we will be making them on Thursday to be displayed on Friday)
- do not buy anything! We want to use all natural/recycled materials.
Happy planning!
